Texchem began its renewable energy journey in 2022 and our commitment has only grown stronger since. From generating 1,526 MWh of clean energy in our first year to 2,585 MWh in 2023 and 3,024 MWh in 2024, we’ve steadily expanded our efforts.
Today, our 2,592 kWp rooftop solar system, powered by more than 5,600 high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) modules, now generates approximately 3,400 MWh of clean energy annually. This initiative avoids more than 21% of the total electricity needs at our 24-hour manufacturing facilities, reducing reliance on conventional power sources. By transitioning to renewable energy, Texchem prevents 2,632 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year, reinforcing Texchem’s commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing.
Energy Efficiency Through Innovation
Texchem Group is committed to reducing energy consumption and environmental impact through continuous technological upgrades. We have replaced low-efficiency air compressors with high-efficiency Variable Speed Drive (VSD) air compressors, optimising energy use across our operations. Additionally, the adoption of LED lighting in new production areas and operational outlets has further enhanced energy efficiency, contributing to substantial energy savings and a lower carbon footprint.
By investing in smarter, more sustainable technologies, Texchem continues to drive responsible manufacturing while minimising environmental impact.
Smart Water Conservation for a Sustainable Future
We prioritise responsible water management by integrating efficient recycling systems into our operations. In our Polymer Engineering Division, wastewater from production lines is recycled and repurposed for non-potable application, such as toilet flushing. This initiative significantly reduces freshwater consumption, minimises waste, and reinforces our commitment to sustainable resource management.
Waste Solutions
At Texchem Group, we transform waste into opportunity. In FY2024, we diverted 79.4% of waste from landfills, ensuring valuable materials are repurposed. We’ve taken sustainability a step further by repurposing salmon heads into meaningful uses and are now exploring partnerships to turn food waste into sustainable animal feed.
Additionally, used cooking oil is collected and sold for processing, ensuring zero waste. With 8,690+ recycled materials, we are redefining waste management, driving sustainability while reducing environmental impact.
Note: Waste management data includes operations in Malaysia and Myanmar.
Raw Materials That
Make a Difference

TEXa is a patented, USDA-certified sustainable biocomposite made from non-edible agricultural waste, offering an eco-friendly alternative to conventional plastics.
Aligned with the 5R principles—Reduce, Refuse, Renewable, Reuse, and Recycle. TEXa Bio-Plastics are derived from renewable agricultural waste, requiring less fossil.
